Liberté Cup

The refugee crisis is bigger than ever with over 65 million displaced people worldwide. While charities in the camps help to provide food and clothes, we wanted to do something that gave a little hope to those in need of some. The idea was to create The Liberté Cup – an annual football tournament for refugees.

The tournament launched on September 2017, with teams travelling far and wide to take part. The day was a huge success with media coverage spreading our message across the world and shout outs from the likes of Lionel Messi, helping us to achieve our goal of changing the media perception. Furthermore, a documentary about the event was released on ITV, reaching an audience of 12M+ across all media.

This initiative would have not been possible without Bigballs Media, Copa90, ITV, Aryven Arasen, Joe Watson, Philip Haynes, Julen Saenz, Émilie Chanteloup, Fuze Beyond Borders, FARE network, Football Supporters Europe, The Worldwide Tribe, Wear A Sports Shirt, 6pointer, Final Cut, Bullion Productions, Utopia56, Giuseppe Bianco, Grande-Synthe Mairie, Instagram, Ever and ever, Kick It Out, Bojan Krkik and Lionel Messi.
